The speed of a sneeze can reach in excess of 100 mph and can produce more than 100,000 droplets.

However, some sneezes have been clocked at only 30 to 35 mph.

A sneeze is also known as a "sternutation." This is a reflexive response to expel irritants from the nasal passages, protecting the respiratory system from potential harm.
